Caravan Of Dreamers

Posted on Apr 21st, 2008 by ModernPrimative : OMNIAVINCITAMOR ModernPrimative

Caravan of Dreamers.

When we have vanquished shame

And can at last

Clearly hear

Future echoes of sleep's caravan

We descend upon a bustling marketplace

Amorous and glowing

Awaiting all weary pilgrims

And we finally alight

On our secret oasis

Drenched in the scent of amber

And rosewater

Where lush palm fronds

Shade our eyes

From the blistering sun

In our encampment

The wind whispers

Sacred secrets

Of the desert

One for each grain of sand

One for each tear we have shed

We have quaffed our thirst

On one another's tears

For far too long

Beloved

And my ravenous heart

Beats for you alone

Soon

Nestled in a glorious

Interminable and vast

Devotion

The ceremony of the Dove

Circles overhead

In histories of the divine

With a keen eye for what is precious

What is eternal

While moonlight

Like arrows of luminous pale

In the quiver of Aphrodite's son

With the crescent moon

For a bow

Showers our nuptial feast

In a cradle of deep remembering

Consecrating our union

And though the jackals

Howl in the distance

We rest safely

In the invulnerable

Arms of the other

Like a correspondence

Across the galaxies

Spirals of inexhaustible

Adulation

Wrapped in rose petals

And lilies

Smiling into one another's

Eyes

Knowing

ODE TO A CAT HERDER

Posted on Apr 7th, 2008 by ModernPrimative : OMNIAVINCITAMOR ModernPrimative

Tomorrow does not exist. Except in a pure and unrealized form.

I cajole from this very moment what we know to be self-evident.

That the pregnant void should issue forth the infinite potentials of a golden dawn.

Try to remember,

Dreams forgotten still happened...

But in wakefulness alone can be realized.

I am AWAKE.

I will never sleep again.

For once the terror subsides,

And the earthquakes and landslides meander their course

We will be left standing at the edge of the World.

Again where we have always been

With lifetimes between us

And the gravity of all that has come before.

But still steeped in the innocence of children

And juxtaposed alongside those who know too much.

Walking between worlds,

On a tightrope of questions and answers,

Always without a net...

But guarding the stars never was our forte.

While we bloom even in the dead of winter.

Wait...

Wait until we can lie naked in the tall grass!

Hear the symphonies of spring

Rolling and ringing through our vibrating bodies

With effortless joy...

Life forming all around,

And in us anew

Before you, I stand speechless

Admonished by your brilliance.

When we were but children to the World

We first met in the briny depths

Of the blackened seas

And I saw the light shine from behind those green eyes

That frightened the others away.

But we have always been children of the sea

And to my chest I wish to hold your radiant face

To tangle myself in your hair

Like seaweed wrapped around

A submerged obelisk of abalone and bone

Pressed against the most magnificent

Caryatid of precious jade and chrysophrase

From across the sands

Of time and beyond

So many lifetimes ago...

But once again

By the shore in our thatch roofed hut

The breeze redolent with the musk of summers past

Billowing through open windows

While we listen to the angelic breathing

Of sleeping children

Moonlight covering their eyes

Half closed in dream

Their worlds gently colliding with ours

Bringing hope to us all...

The Ink Of A Naked Beehive

The Ink Of A Naked Beehive

When our trance
Subsides
Like the heaving breast
Of a star-crossed kaleidoscope
Of musical menageries
In sync with a magnificent and eternal flame
Held without pain
Throughout the procession
Weaving through our industrious lives
Always reminding
But never with full remembrance
The essence of our holy dreaming
We couldn’t bear to leave anyone behind
Once in the city
Participating in love
At all times deep in the forest
Far more beautiful
Inside the blooming
Of our delicate understanding
The orbits of our lives
A miracle of lights
Cascading through
Open minds in an enormous feast
Of songs and prayer
Friendly questions left out on the town
Inside that first time
The feeling of being truly alive
Floating between the here and now
Walking in the hands of the little prince
Letters of dominance
Tamed and resilient
The unbridled restraint
Of pure love unfiltered by preconceived
Domesticated notions
Random reproductions of coincidences
Open to the infinite
Yet
Authors of our own design
Each with powerful
Eyes to delve
Deeper still
Lives to redeem
A kind of insistent
Urge to deny this benevolent
Glorious adventure
All lined against the wall
Images we wish to lose...

We never fully abandoned the Garden
The illusion of the outcasts
A startling and grotesque impulse
To hold on to what is ugly and vile
There are no gates
To captivate
Messages from the heavens in new more
Legible forms
Acrobatic nuance of inverted
Meanings
Able to transmute
Poison
To wine
Once again in the Buddhist countryside
Watching the skies
For an impervious
Sense of comfort
Wrapped in our robes
The children nestled at our feet
Passing flowers through holes in the ocean floor
When after the deluge we gathered
Together for comfort
On the hill
And in the kivas we shared the knowledge
Of our ancestors
To this very day
I hear the hushed whispers
Of my elders
Brushing past my ears
Reminding me to distill
The essence of beauty
From every naked moment

Ode to Imploding Tears or Squaring the Circle

Ode to Imploding Tears or Squaring the Circle

I  bow my head in a reverent silence to you
unable to meet your gaze
I see you through the looking glass
staring at me
yet our eyes have never fully
met
and I
like a thief in this cold long night
beg your forgiveness
pray for
absolution
and for your sanity
may you traverse these
temporal portals through to eternity
with a compassionate guide to lead you
through these ephemeral stages
to what lies beyond
before we were born

and I the other
to your half
forming new constellations
from these silver tears
like dew caught in gossamer cobwebs
waiting to fashion from pure light

a home in the trees built of starlight
and the laughter of children

I feel the pain
the canyons of the Earth
dividing the north from the south
the land from the sea
the left from the right

but meridians reel in our passing
helplessly attempting to divide
what cannot be unbound
what cannot be torn asunder
the apogee bends
kissing the perigee
squarely between those green eyes

the moon passes dangerously close to the Earth

and these tides rise uncontrollably
I hope we all learn to breathe underwater in time...

KINDRED We are but branches from the One Tree flowers' petals the buzzing nectar of the bees our tender shoots feed the colony growing infinite light matrices endlessly harvested pure joy and we extol the virtues of our boundless love to the radiant heavens but below the frozen ground our roots mingle with the arid soil it thirsts for our conjoined prayers lest these dreams wither and dissipate before the blooms spread their seeds to the gloaming winds of change All in its own due season my love is supple inexhaustible the very energy that holds the molecules together shoots from my fingertips and I am awestruck in your wake...
